Looking to apply for the Merrick Bank VISA or MasterCard® Credit Card?

My wife recently received an invitation in the mail for the Double Your LineTM VISA® Card from Merrick Bank. The details of this offer were:

  • No Annual Fee
  • No Account Set-Up Fee
  • No Monthly Service Fee
  • No Penalty Rates
  • No Over Limit Fee
  • $1000 Approved Credit Line
  • Double Your Line to $2000

This offer also came with FREE monthly FICO® Score-- This is a complimentary benefit each month your account is enrolled in paperless statements, subject to score availability from Transunion.

The invitation letter had two ways to respond to the offer:

  • By visiting http://www.doubleyourline.com
  • Or, by filling out the pre-selected acceptance certificate and mailing it in.

My wife didn't take the offer because she has very good credit and already has an American Express card. This card sounds too good to be true for anyone with bad credit, in my opinion. Most cards I've seen for individuals trying to build or re-establish a good credit history carry some sort of fee(s). So, this card could be a very good option for those looking for an opportunity to help build or re-establish a good credit history.
